Political reforms and elections in Kazakhstan were discussed at the PACE meeting

Yevgeny Bolgert, a member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). During the visit, several meetings were held with the Assembly's leadership, heads of political factions, and national delegations from European countries.

During talks with PACE President Petra Bayr, the parties discussed prospects for further interparliamentary cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Assembly. Particular attention was paid to the political reforms underway in our country, as well as preparations for the upcoming Kurultai elections. Petra Bayr, in turn, noted the PACE members' strong interest in observing the electoral processes in Kazakhstan.

Yevgeny Bolgert also met with the chairs of PACE political groups Zsolt Németh, Pablo Ispán, Julian Bulai, and Frank Schwabe, as well as the head of the German national delegation to PACE, Knut Abraham. During the discussions, the senator informed his European colleagues about the democratic reforms and modernization of the political system underway in Kazakhstan.

A separate meeting was held with Assembly members planning to participate in international election observation for the Kurultai. The parties discussed the country's socio-political development and the current party landscape. PACE representatives emphasized the significance and dynamic nature of the reforms being implemented in the Republic.

Furthermore, Yevgeny Bolgert addressed a meeting of the PACE Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, where current issues of international legal cooperation were discussed.
