Residents of the Shieli District are Afraid to Walk across the Bridge

Deputies of the Senate Murat Baktiyaruly and Bekmyrza Yelamanov met with the local population, heads of district institutions and the Veterans Council during their working visit to Sunkat and Tomenaryk villages in Zhanakorgan district of Kyzylorda region, where they discussed a number of topical issues.

The meeting discussed issues about stopping high-speed Kyzylorda – Semey train at the Tomenaryk station, reducing the retirement age for women, addressing problems with providing the population with drinking water and many others.

The senators noted that they consider documents for construction of a hospital in the village, shared with the changes made related to social assistance of a new format for large and low-income families, as well as with the development of the agricultural sector, including benefits for development of small and medium-sized businesses.

In Zhurek, Balabi and Baygekum villages of the Shieli district, the parliamentarians met with representatives of rural hospitals and locals. At the meeting, mothers with many children who cannot get social assistance expressed their complaints. In addition, residents of 3 villages asked to solve the problem with drinking water and update the bridge in Nansay riverbed due to the fact that water blocks the road during the spring and autumn periods. The senators stressed that all issues will be under constant control, and some issues will be discussed in the Senate of the Parliament.

The deputies also met with the teaching staff and students of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University. During the meeting, the law "On Status of a Teacher" was explained. The senators also explained in detail to students about the consequences of alcohol and drug intoxication, told about the irreversible consequences of their use and how the laws related to these issues are tightened. The parliamentarians thanked for the active participation of students in public affairs in the past year which was declared the "Year of Youth" by Elbasy, and urged young people to actively participate in solving social issues and in improvement of the Kyzylorda region.
