At an expanded meeting Deputies of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Defense and Security discussed the Law “On ratification of the Protocol between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on the areas of activity of border representatives (map 1:200,000)”.

The protocol proposes to define the territorial limits of the sections of the state border, where the border representatives of the two countries, in cooperation with each other, perform their duties.

The ratification of the Protocol will make it possible to pursue a coordinated border policy between the two countries, aimed at maintaining good neighborly relations, developing mutually beneficial economic and other cooperation, ensuring human rights and freedoms, and protecting the interests of each state party.

It is expected that the Law will contribute to further ensuring stability on the state border of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the spirit of mutual respect, trust and equality.

As a result of the discussion by the members of the Committee, it was decided to send the Law for consideration at a meeting of the Chamber.
