The Senate Committee on Social and Cultural Development and Science held an extended session to consider the bill “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on the Establishment of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO (Category 2)”.
The ratification of this Agreement will give Kazakhstan an opportunity to contribute to the development of UNESCO policy for intercultural dialogue.
Moreover, the International Centre for the Rapprochement of Cultures will be founded in our country under the auspices of UNESCO. It will be operated on the basis of the existing national museum “Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures”. In the future, the International Centre for the Rapprochement of Cultures, under the auspices of UNESCO, should become a regional hub for scientific research in this area.
The bill has been sent to the House for consideration.
