Senate deputies Nariman Turegaliyev and Lyazzat Rysbekova visited the Kaztal and Zhanibek districts of the Western Kazakhstan region.

The senators arrived to the Kaztal district and visited the Sarykudyk and Zhalpaktal villages where they got acquainted with the course of construction of a 60-seat school, a sports complex, a 12-apartment dwelling house and met with local intelligentsia.

At the meeting, the senators discussed with the villagers the topical problems of the region. They included addressing water supply issues, preserving the saiga population, extending mobile communication networks, as well as reinforcing local self-governance.

The deputies also made a trip to the Zhanibek village located near the border with the Russian Federation. The expansion of the border crossing point that is located there is also one of the issues which are important to residents of the region.

“The question raised by the region’s residents is about the fact that there is a border crossing point between Kazakhstan and Russia, which is open to residents of the border districts. The people of Western Kazakhstan ask to make this border crossing point open for residents of other districts as well. This would help lessen the traffic congestion at other checkpoints, which sometimes get blocked. And we, as deputies elected from the West Kazakhstan region, do not take this issue off our agenda,” Senator Nariman Toregaliyev emphasized.
