15.06.2021 401

An online meeting of MPs-members of the Committee on Agrarian Issues, Environmental Management, and Development of Rural Areas of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan with members of the Commission on Agriculture of the National People’s Congress was held.

Opening the meeting, Chairman of the related Committee of the Senate Ali Bektayev noted that there is a very close political, economic, and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China.

“A special role in strengthening friendly ties is played by regular communication between the legislative bodies of the two countries, which indicates a high mutual interest in developing inter-parliamentary cooperation, deepening the exchange of experience in lawmaking,” Ali Bektayev said.

Senator Akhylbek Kurishbayev, in turn, told his colleagues about Kazakhstan’s report on the development of rural areas, which is being carried out as part of the state program for the development of regions for 2020-2025. He also noted that there is a special program “Yenbek” for villagers, according to which they can study the basics of entrepreneurship for free, as well as receive grants and microcredits for their business.

Senator Duissengazy Mussin spoke about the development of agriculture. He stressed that about 42% of the population lives in rural areas.

“The main goal of the state program for the development of the agro-industrial complex until 2021 is to increase labor productivity in the agro-industrial complex and export of processed agricultural products by at least 2.5 times within 5 years,” Senator Duissengazy Mussin said.

Members of the National People’s Congress, in turn, spoke about the work carried out in the neighboring country to develop rural areas and overcome poverty. Summing up the results of the meeting, Ali Bektayev noted that despite the economic consequences followed by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the recession in the global economy, the measures taken by our states to ensure the stability of employment and well-being of the population and other support measures help improve the quality of life of villagers.
