Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kazakhstan Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Dawood. In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the bilateral cooperation between our countries and the interaction in the parliamentary sphere.

The Senate Speaker noted that Saudi Arabia is an important partner of Kazakhstan in the Middle East.

“Thanks to the efforts of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, close trade and economic, cultural, and political relations that are based on mutual respect and trust have been established between our countries. Currently, the Head of State attaches great importance to further strengthening of multi-faceted cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia,” the Speaker of the Senate noted.

The Chairman of the House emphasized that our countries have all the potential to develop a successful inter-parliamentary dialogue. He also thanked the interlocutor for the active involvement of the representatives of Saudi Arabia in the Congresses of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan and stressed the need to intensify intra-governmental cooperation in the post-pandemic period.

“Our countries are united by strong historical, spiritual, and cultural ties. We are carefully watching the economic development of Saudi Arabia. In particular, I would like to point to the Saudi Vision 2030 program, which is aimed at the diversification of the economy, the development of health care, education, infrastructure, and tourism. So we are working on similar issues. Many aspects and directions of economic reforms in our countries are alike since their primary goal is to raise the well-being of the peoples of our states”, Maulen Ashimbayev said.

During the talks, the Senate Speaker also congratulated the Government of Saudi Arabia on its successful presidency of the G-20 organization.
