At the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov met with First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin. During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of the arrangements reached as part of the official visit of Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the upper house of the Russian Parliament, to the Republic of Kazakhstan in June of this year.
As a result of the talks, the Protocol of the earlier meeting of the Commission on Cooperation between the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation was signed.
While in Moscow as coordinator of international observers of the IPA CIS for the elections to the State Duma, the Deputy Speaker of the Senate had several meetings in the State Duma with Deputy Speaker Petr Tolstoy and leaders of political parties of the lower house of the Russian Parliament, such as the United Russia, CPRF, LDPR, and Fair Russia - Patriots - For Truth, as part of the pre-election activities.
