A meeting of the Bureau chaired by Speaker of the House Maulen Ashimbayev took place, where deputies approved the agenda of the session of the Senate, which is scheduled for October 7 this year.

The agenda includes two bills “On Ratification of the Agreement on the Joint Humanitarian Demining Engineering Unit of the Armed Forces of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States” and “On Ratification of the Agreement on the Joint (United) Communications System of the Armed Forces of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States”.

The ratification of the first Agreement establishes the procedure for the formation, use, and termination of the Joint Unit’s activities, its status in the territory of the host or transit party, and the status of the military personnel of the parties during the humanitarian de-mining period. In its turn, the ratification of the Agreement on the Joint Communications System will boost the effectiveness of the communications systems of the Armed Forces of the countries-participants in the Agreement.

Apart from that, the bills “On Ratification of the Protocol for the Protection of the Caspian Sea against Pollution from Land-based Sources and Activities to the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea”, “On Ratification of the Protocol for the Conservation of Biological Diversity to the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea” and “On Making Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Counteraction of Legitimization (Laundering) of Incomes Received by Illegal Means, and Financing of Terrorism”, previously received from the Mazhilis, have also been transferred to the specialized committees of the Senate during the Bureau meeting.
