Deputies of the Senate Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship held a visiting meeting in Turkestan region. The main topic for discussion was the improvement of legislation and the implementation of state programs in the field of housing construction, as well as the development of a unified national program to provide citizens with housing.

Chairman of the Committee Dauren Adilbekov noted that providing affordable housing for Kazakhstanis is one of the main social tasks of the state. And in the process of legislative support for the implementation of relevant state programs, the role of parliamentarians is fundamentally important. The deputy also stressed that the visiting session of the Senate Committee is aimed precisely at identifying problematic issues in the field of housing policy.

And Senator Alimzhan Kurtayev believes that it is necessary to develop a separate program to provide housing for the rural population. This will improve living conditions in rural areas, and may also reduce the mass outflow of young people to cities.

"Existing state programs cannot be implemented in rural areas. In this regard, in order to further improve the housing construction process in Kazakhstan, a draft law on housing policy reform was developed. At the moment, it is under consideration by the Government," the senator said.

Deputy Akim of Turkestan region Arman Zhetpisbai, Chairman of the Committee for Construction and Housing and Communal Services of MIID, Timur Karagoishin, Managing Director of Otbasy Bank JSC and heads of other relevant departments also took part in the work of the on-site meeting of the Committee.

During the trip to the region, the parliamentarians also got acquainted with the construction of a new microdistrict, visited construction sites, a plant for the production of transformer equipment, as well as a transport and logistics center.
