An expanded meeting of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security was held under the chairmanship of Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed, where the draft law "On Ratification of the Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the creation of Baiterek space rocket complex at Baikonur cosmodrome" was discussed.
The ratification of the Protocol will allow updating a number of terms of the Agreement on financial obligations and redistributing responsibilities in the joint venture.
In addition, the document provides for mutual obligations of the parties aimed at launching flight tests of Baiterek space rocket complex with a medium-class launch vehicle in 2023.
The adoption of the bill will expand Kazakhstan-Russian cooperation and clearly delineate the responsibilities of the parties to ensure launches from Baiterek space rocket complex, - Senator Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed concluded.
Following the results of the extended meeting of the Committee, the deputies decided to submit the bill to the Chamber for consideration.
