The Head of State delivered an extensive program speech today, in which he outlined the country's key priorities in the socio-economic and socio-political spheres for the coming period, and also set specific tasks for the new composition of the Government and the entire state apparatus.
In general, the tragic events of January showed the need for systemic and serious changes in the country. In his speech, the President of the country raised the most pressing issues that have been discussed in society for a long time.
As it was noted by President K.K.Tokayev, the system of public administration should be rebuilt, the power structures reformed, and the combat capability of the army increased. It is necessary to reduce the participation of the state in the economy, as well as social inequality in the country. The Samruk-Kazyna Fund and the entire quasi-public sector are to be reformed. Conditions will be created for the mass development of small and medium-sized businesses, and imbalances in the development of regions will be reduced.
The Head of State also noted the need for further democratization of the political system. Specific initiatives will be made public in September this year after a broad dialogue with experts and the public.
In general, all the measures proposed today are systemic in nature. They are aimed at a profound transformation of public administration, the structure of the economy, the social sphere and the growth of the welfare of our citizens.
In fact, a new stage of the country's development is beginning – the stage of updating and restructuring the entire system of public administration on the principles of meritocracy, justice and openness.
In turn, the Senate of the Parliament will do everything necessary for high-quality and timely legislative support of all the announced initiatives of the Head of State.
