05.08.2022 210

Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra Maria Ubach.

During the talks the parties noted the progressive character of bilateral relations, having underlined that in spite of geographical remoteness from each other Kazakhstan and Andorra have promising directions of mutually advantageous cooperation, in particular in the sphere of tourism.

The productive interaction of the parliamentarians of two countries within the framework of participation in the international parliamentary organizations, including in the Parliamentary Assemblies of OSCE and the Council of Europe was also noted.

The Vice-Speaker of the Senate briefed on the modernization agenda of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in terms of strengthening the role of Parliament in the political mechanism.

"The Constitutional Reform essentially transforms the current political system of the country, transforms it from a super-presidential to a presidential republic with an influential Parliament and accountable Government", - noted the Kazakh parliamentarian.

Participants of the meeting agreed on further development of inter-parliamentary relations as an important part of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Andorra.
