Interparliamentary cooperation between Kazakhstan and Slovakia discussed in Senate

Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed met with Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Róbert Kirnág.

Welcoming the diplomat, the Senator noted that a dialogue of trust has been established between the two countries at the highest level, favorable conditions have been created for the development of trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. In recent years Kazakhstan was visited by Prime Minister and Speaker of the Parliament, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Economy of Slovakia. All this indicates a mutual desire to strengthen and increase bilateral cooperation.

"The development of bilateral cooperation with Slovakia is important for us in the context of the strategic partnership with the European Union. Our country is actively working on the implementation of the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU with a focus on such priority areas as transition to a "green" economy, trade and investment, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, combating climate change, education, science and others," the Deputy noted.

Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed also discussed with the Ambassador the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary ties, as well as Kazakhstan's interest in attracting investors and energy security issues.

In turn, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic noted the importance of further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that Kazakhstan has proven a reliable political and economic partner for more than 28 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
