21.12.2022 223

Deputies of the Senate Committee on Agrarian Affairs, Nature Management and Rural Development at an enlarged session discussed draft laws relating to the legal regulation of relations in the conservation, reproduction and rational use of flora throughout the country.

The draft laws "On Flora" and its attendant "On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Flora and Protected Areas" are designed to ensure the regulation of relations in the conservation and use of flora, creating a legal framework for the conservation and reproduction of natural plant resources and the gene pool of wild species of plants, as well as their rational use.

It is expected that the draft law will help to conserve biodiversity and increase their sustainability, improve the protection of endemic and rare plant species, to attract investment, to preserve and use the potential of the plant resource base, the development of small businesses and increase local revenues.

According to the results of the extended meeting of the Committee it was decided to submit these bills to the House for consideration.
