Deputies of the Senate Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship held an extended session to discuss the Law "On Ratification of the Agreement on Procedures and Conditions for Elimination of Technical Barriers in Mutual Trade with Third Countries".

The Agreement provides for mechanisms to remove technical barriers to trade with third countries or integration associations through the conclusion of separate agreements. The instrument defines the conditions under which such agreements may be concluded, in particular, establishing the equivalence of procedures for the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies, the comparability of mandatory requirements.

According to the senators, the bill will contribute to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation of the member states of the Union with third countries and key integration associations through the presence of developed mechanisms and conditions for the mutual removal of technical barriers to trade while maintaining a balance of interests of the security of goods and the development of trade turnover.
