Senator clarified new rules to adding greater punitive measures for corruption

Deputy of the Senate, Andrey Lukin, held online meetings with law enforcement officials, representatives of Akimat and Maslikhat of the city of Nur-Sultan.

At the meeting, they discussed issues of prevention of delinquency among minors, modernization of departmental education and implementation of the state policy in the field of citizenship and population migration.

The Deputy listened to proposals to eliminate conditions conducive to corruption, the format of work with the population, as well as to improve legislation in modern conditions.

In addition, the Deputy explained some of the provisions of the laws adopted by the Parliament. For example, the adopted Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Strengthening the Protection of Rights of Citizens in Criminal Proceedings and Countering Corruption” stipulates rules for adding greater punitive measures applied to law enforcement officers and judges for committing corruption crimes.

The Senator also spoke about the amendments made to exclude the possibility of release on parole for persons convicted of grave and especially grave corruption crimes.
