02.03.2021 729

The deputies discussed the amendments to the legislation on science issues today at an enlarged meeting of the Committee on Social and Cultural Development and Science. The meeting was chaired by Senator Nariman Turegaliyev.

The Draft Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Science Issues” was initiated by the deputies of the Parliament and aimed at improving the scientific, scientific and technical sphere and commercializing its results.

In particular, the proposed innovations will allow funding a wide range of scientific research from the republican budget. It is expected that this will help increase the number of applied scientific discoveries, as well as the contribution of science to the development of the country’s economy.

The changes will also affect labor relations. Thus, an amendment is being made to the Labor Code, according to which the procedure for entering the civil service and holding a competition for a vacant civil servant position will not apply to the first head and teacher of a state educational organization.

The adoption of the draft law contributes to improving state regulation in the field of science and increasing the competitiveness of this area, summed up the participants in the extended meeting of the Committee.

The document has been sent to the Chamber for consideration.
