Senators take part in the IPA CIS events

Members of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the meetings of the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Defence and Security Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed and members of the Joint Commission for the Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges discussed the work progress on model draft laws “On public security” and “On a universal emergency call system”, as well as the proposals for the CIS Model Legislation Plan for 2020-2022 within the competence of the commission. The senator also took part in the meeting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defence and Security, where the participants discussed model draft laws “On National Security” and “On a universal emergency call system”.

Senator Sultanbek Makezhanov and his colleagues from the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation discussed the preparation progress for the International Parliamentary Conference “Global Challenges and Threats in the Context of the COVID 19 Pandemic. Terrorism and Violent Extremism” and the World Conference on Interreligious and Interethnic Dialogue scheduled by the Inter-Parliamentary Union with the support and under the auspices of the UN in May 2022 in Russia.

Senate member Nurlan Kylyshbayev and members of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance continued to work on the Recommendations for the development and application of public-private partnership mechanisms in the CIS member states. In addition, draft concepts of model documents were presented to parliamentarians, the work on which will be carried out in accordance with the Model Legislation Plan. These include model laws “On public procurement”, “On digital financial assets”, “On digital transformation of industries of the CIS member states”, Recommendations for the development of cooperation between the CIS member states in the field of economic security, as well as certain chapters of the Special Part of the model Tax Code for the CIS member states.
