The state and issues of the healthcare sector were closely monitored by Senators Aigul Kapbarova and Nurlan Beknazarov during their trip to Shymkent.
The senators chose to begin their work in the region with a visit to City Hospital No. 2. The hospital was being repaired during their previous visit. This time, their goal was to check the quality of the work performed. The medical staff told the deputies that a stroke center is being organized at the hospital. They also demonstrated the country’s only angiography machine that can quickly and accurately diagnose cardiovascular diseases. In addition, the deputies were shown a digital X-ray apparatus and equipment allowing to carry out computer tomography. Citizens may receive all these services free of charge.
The deputies also considered the issue of combating the pandemic coronavirus. The senators reminded that the country devotes particular attention to vaccination. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that vaccination and the formation of herd immunity will help defeat the coronavirus, and therefore eliminate all the restrictions, ensure the return of normal life and economic activity.
“Vaccination is the most reliable method of protecting yourself and your loved ones from the severe course of COVID-19. That is why we need to conduct continuous extensive outreach work with the population,” Senator Aigul Kapbarova noted.
Lack of birthing units is among the critical issues raised by medical staff. The case is that, according to statistics, there is a baby born every 15 minutes in the metropolis. Because of the high birth rate, the city is facing a severe shortage of beds for birthing mothers. The senators promised to thoroughly study this issue and adopt appropriate measures to address it.
